Allison Miriani
Steamboat Pilot & Today

In the tough economic climate of 2010, the Steamboat Pilot & Today advertisers requested opportunities to run more coupon advertising.

Steamboat Pilot & Today responded – not just with a coupon page, but with a high-bright, heavy-weight, color “wrap” – impossible to miss, handy for shoppers and great exposure for advertisers.

The coupons were wrapped around the outside of the paper and were published every other week throughout the spring and summer producing more than $30,000 in revenue. The income offset a dip in classified line ads in 2010.

It was a “win” for the businesses that needed shoppers in a slow economy and a “win” for the newspapers’ bottom line.
