Colorado Press Association is on Facebook. We’re using Twitter, too. We network using Linkedin. And we are about to launch our brand new website. It will knock your socks off.

In the two months since CPA has actively been using Facebook, we have garnered a little more than 325 fans. We know that there are more than 325 people in the world who “like” the First Amendment, fighting for the public’s right to know and ensuring a free press. So we’ve got to assume that, like anything, we have to market our product and strengthen our brand.

CPA Facebook posts aren’t mainstream. You will find interesting articles and blogs from places such as BuzzMachine and Huffington Post to Mashable and historic images from our resident historian, Rob Carrigan.

We might ask you a question or two about issues that are important to our industry, such as where you stand on public notice issues and what drives you to a website.

We will most definitely post updates about important legislation and other issues affecting what we do.

But we’ll also post some fun stuff. Things that are just entertaining. After all, we would argue that the idea of a “social network” is most certainly the entertainment.

If you or others in your organization haven’t “liked” CPA yet, please do. We think you’ll “love,” but that’s not an option.
